Alpine Biking: Park City, UT

Park City has 300+ miles of excellent single track right around town plus more outstanding riding only 30 minutes away in the Uinta Mountains. From just a few miles of trails fifteen years ago, Park City is fast becoming recognized by many as one of the top five mountain biking destinations in the country, and nobody knows it all better than we do (because we built a lot of it!).

Park City's high alpine location is perfect for beating the summer heat. The town itself and historic Main Street are an added bonus. With 25 art galleries, 30 bars, 105 restaurants, and outdoor concerts several nights a week, your evenings are sure to be amply occupied.

Park City is a high-altitude location, so while the temperatures are pleasant, those coming from sea level may notice they are breathing a bit harder than normal for the first couple days. Even though it averages above 9,000 feet of elevation, one of the favorite trails for every visitor is to ride the ridgeline above Park City where you have magnificent views into two canyons. This can be done as a relatively civilized 15 mile ride with a shuttle up to near the ridge or as a Herculean 37 miler that rates as a solid double black diamond.

Another favorite is the Mid-Mountain Trail, which was selected in the summer of 2004 by the International Mountain Biking Association as one of their “Epic Rides”. It's almost 30 miles of spectacular single track that's virtually all cross-mountain and that starts at Deer Valley Resort, crosses Park City Mountain Resort, and finishes at The Canyons Resort. Every advanced rider will find it fantastic.
