Park City Fall Ride

The fall colors are spectacular in the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains and the weather in general is outstanding – pleasant temperatures and bright blue skies. Park City and its historic Main Street are an added bonus. With 25 art galleries, 30 bars, and 105 restaurants, your evenings are sure to be amply occupied.

Park City has over 300 miles of excellent single track right around town and most of it is through aspen and maple groves that are a blaze of color in the fall. There's another hundred or so miles of outstanding riding only 30 minutes away in the Uinta Mountains and the colors there are equally eye catching. From just a few miles of trails fifteen years ago, Park City is fast becoming recognized by many as one of the top five mountain biking destinations in the country, and nobody knows it all better that us (because we built a lot of it!).

The mountain biking around Park City is all high mountain stuff, so those coming from sea level may notice they are breathing harder than normal for the first couple days. Even though it averages above 9,000 feet of elevation, one of the favorite trails for every visitor is the ridgeline above Park City where you have stunning views down into two colorful canyons. This can be done as a relatively civilized 15 mile ride with a shuttle up to near the ridge or as a Herculean 37 miler that rates as a solid double black diamond.

One of Park City's greatest attributes as a mountain biking destination is the variety on display in its immense trail network. From the kaleidoscope of fall colors that almost feel like a hallucinogenic rush as you sprint cross-mountain, to the technical challenges big enough to cause and endo uphill or down, to the steeps which may induce some hike-a-bike every now and then, the riding here is always entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable!
