Yurt Camping

Round, vaguely Mongolian, and a unique way to camp. Our yurt is available for nightly rental year-round. Located in the Uinta Mountains next to Castle Peak in and approximately 30 miles from Park City, you can drive to it in the summer and ski to it in the winter. It sleeps 8 people in bunk beds equipped with mattresses. Please bring your own sleeping bags/bedding. It's primitive. There's no plumbing or electricity, so you get to use a lantern and a wood-fired stove as well as an outhouse. But for outdoor enthusiasts, it's a great outing with family and friends.

Yurt Update:
Greetings yurt goers. You have probably noticed we have not started taking reservations for the Castle Peak Yurt as of yet. The owners of the yurt, White Pine Touring and the Forest Service are currently in discussions regarding the permitting of the yurt. All parties are working hard to reach an agreement that is acceptable for everyone involved. Please feel free to contact Hank Keil, White Pine Touring Programs Director, or Scott House, Communications Director, with any questions you may have. We appreciate your continued support and patience in this matter. We hope to have everything sorted out in the very near future.
