The Castle Peak yurt is available for nightly rental year-round. It is located in the vast wilderness of the Uinta Mountains below Castle Peak, approximately 30 miles from Park City. This remote yurt can be accessed with a high clearance 4x4 vehicle in the summer or about an hour of snowmobiling in the winter. Skiing to the yurt can take around 4 to 6 hours depending on weather conditions and fitness levels of the skiers, since it is about 2,000 feet of elevation gain. Guests are fully responsible for the safe navigation of themselves and their party during this backcountry experience. Unfortunately, no dogs are permitted inside the yurt.

The yurt sleeps 8 people in bunk beds with mattresses provided. Please bring your own sleeping bags/bedding. The yurt is furnished with a 3-burner gas stove for cooking, a wood-burning stove for heating, pots/pans, tableware, a solar-powered lighting system, and a table with chairs. There is no running water or plumbing at the yurt but there is an outhouse on site. There is also a small wood-burning sauna on site at the Castle Peak yurt to help you relax after long days in the backcountry. Firewood is provided for your stay, but we ask you use only what you need in consideration of future yurt travelers.

We recommend booking the Yurt well in advance to secure the dates desired. You may cancel your reservation 10 or more days in advance of the reservation start and receive a full refund.

For reservations cancelled within 9 days or less of the reservation start, we will open the dates for Yurt bookings and will provide a refund to the extent the dates are booked by other parties. No refunds will be made for reservations cancelled within 9 days or less of the reservation start that are not ultimately booked.
